Jesse Eugene Bell, Ph.D. is a Claire M. Hubbard Professor of Health and Environment. He has about 20years’ experience in conducting climate change studies. He is at the present Director of the Water, Climate and Health Program, also Director of the Water, Climate and Health at Daugherty Water for Global Institute. He has previously, served in a joint researcher/climate science advisor position with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration.
In this role, he integrated climate and environmental data into health investigations. He was also a lead author on the U.S. Global Change Research Program Report “The Impacts of Climate Change on Human Health in the United States: a Scientific Assessment” which was released by the White House in 2016. In his current position as an Endowed Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, he funded a project by NOAA to understand drought, human health, and climate preparedness nexus. He has published widely in his field of interest.
His expertise in climate change adaptation was useful in this project.
